Spring is here! While the sun has been shining, the wind has also made it very difficult for lots of our native animals.  Young birds, in particular struggle learning to fly in this wild weather and often end up in care. Since the start of August, Wild Days has had OVER 100 animals brought in for care. This figure doesn’t even include the critters who are in for the longer term, often coming in as orphans months ago.

Today, we’re asking for your support.

Every animal that comes into care needs food and a safe place to stay, both of which are a cost to the shelter, not to mention the hours of time and expertise Kay and all volunteers offer for free.

These costs can range dramatically, with long-term care normally costing the most.  For example, an orphaned animal that comes into care will stay for several months until being fit for release, having an associated cost of hundreds, sometimes over $1000 for particular animals!   When operating on the scale that Wild Days does, specialised food and operating costs adds up really quickly!
