Beauties of the Sky

One of the more majestic birds of the sky and one which has become more common around suburban South Eastern suburbs in recent years is the Black-Shouldered Kite.

This beautiful bird came into care at Wild Days Wildlife Shelter recently showing signs of poisoning. During these months, often birds of prey are impacted by eating mice that have been baited, causing secondary poisoning. Many don't make it.

Thankfully, after a week and a half of being too weak to eat for herself, she turned the corner, and made a full recovery. She is beautiful and now back where she belongs, hovering over wetlands in Narre Warren.

Such a gorgeous sight.
